Arrive Ghana. After immigration procedures where you will be asked to present your passport with your visa stamped inside and required to show proof of inoculation against Yellow Fever, proceed to baggage claim. After custom procedures, you will be met by local guide and transferred to the Novotel Hotel, located in downtown Accra, close to the main shopping area, the Makola market, museums and theatres. The hotel has with 180 air-conditioned rooms, a bar, a restaurant, a swimming pool and meeting rooms. Check-in procedures upon arrival. Afternoon depart on a ½ day Accra city tour visiting the National Museum, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Park, W.E.B. DuBois Center for Pan Africanism, the Artists Alliance Gallery, Independence Arch and Black Star Square – Accra’s ceremonial grounds. View in the distance Christiansburg Castle office of the President of Ghana. Your last stop for the day will be a visit to the Arts and Crafts market to view a wide collection of Ghanaian hand made items on sale and to shop. This evening enjoy a Naming ceremony and orientation followed by Welcome Group Dinner at local restaurant.

| Day 3 |
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart after breakfast to visit a nearby village. Spend the morning with a couple and their family and join in their daily chores and economic activities. Continue to Shai Games Reserve ancestral home of the Shai. Visit the caves where history has it that the Shai people originated from and hid away from their enemies during tribal wars Archaeological excavations have found items, some hundreds of years old in these ancient caves. The Shai Game Reserve is also home to several species of animals and we may be likely to spot some antelopes, green monkeys and baboons. Return to Accra.

| Day 4 |
Breakfast is included at hotel. After breakfast, checkout of hotel and depart for Kumasi via Cape Coast. Drive along the coast through several fishing villages and coconut-lined beaches. Arrive at Cape Coast. Visit Cape Coast Castle and the West African Historical Museum. The guide will conduct you to the slave quarters and Negotiation Hall where our ancestors were bargained for and sold. Lunch (on your own). After lunch visit Elmina Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482 and later used as an auction market for slaves for a comprehensive guided tour. See the Slave dungeons and the condemned cell where slaves who attempted to escape were incarcerated. Continue to Kumasi driving past Assin Manso, burial site of the remains of two former slaves exhumed from New York’s Wall Street and re-interred on Emancipation Day 1998 and the “Slave River” which was the last rest stop for slaves on their “one-way” trek to the Coast for shipment into slavery. Note the change in vegetation from coastal shrub to forest as we drive northwards. Cross the River Prah to the historic and cultural capital city of Ashanti – Kumasi. Arrive Kumasi early evening and check-in to your hotel

Continental breakfast is included at hotel. After breakfast, depart to visit a few Ashanti craft villages to observe craftsmen at work and to purchase souvenir gift items from the wide assortment of handicrafts on sale. Ahwiaa - specializing in woodcarvings such as stools and fertility dolls; Ntonso - where the primary activity is the Adinkra mourning clothe and tie-and-dye and finally to Bonwire, home of the famous Kente clothe. Return to Kumasi for Lunch (on your own). After lunch, enjoy a Kumasi city tour visiting the National Cultural Center, Prempeh II Jubilee Museum, Manhyia Palace residence of the Asantehene and the Palace Museum Military Museum, Okomfo Anokye sword, drive through the campus of the University of Science and Technology and the Central Market - the largest open-air market in West Africa.

| Day 6 |
Continental breakfast is included at hotel. After breakfast, checkout of hotel and depart Kumasi for Accra. Stop at Ejisu to visit Nana Yaa Asantewaa Museum that has relics used by the female general who led the Ashanti armies in the last war against the British colonial forces in 1900. Continue to Accra. Arrive Accra and check-in to your hotel.

Breakfast. Free day for last minute shopping and packing. Evening transfer to the airport for departure.
